In the United States, on the first Sunday of May each year, we celebrate Mother’s Day. This is the day when we honour the role that mothers play in our lives. It’s a day to celebrate mothers all over the world: our own, our friends and our neighbours. Mother’s Day is especially important for the Love Is Project, which wouldn’t be the same without the mother-daughter bond, devotion and acts of love!

When the Love is Project started ramping up and Chrissie needed help, she knew who her first phone call would be: her mom, Gladys.
Gladys had spent years working in banking and occupied the C-suite before spending the last decade in retirement. In addition to an accomplished career, she’s also your typical Hong Kong Chinese Tiger Momand a Taurus. She’s sharp and energetic—and don’t even try to mess with her or you’ll wind up the fool.
While Chrissie says Gladys would like to go back to holidaying on cruise ships, she knows how meaningful Love is Project is to Chrissie and our community of artisans, and she’s dropped everything to lead the operations and financial management of the Love Is Project, learning new technology and platforms and educating herself on an ever-changing market landscape to boot.
This is why Mother’s Day holds a special place in the hearts of everyone who’s part of the Love Is Project, because it wouldn’t exist without sacrifices made due to motherly love.
