Spread LOVE, Not Viruses

It’s true–we’re best known for our LOVE-inspired jewelry and accessories, but this past month, our Balinese artisan partners picked up their needles to sew something a little different—face masks!

43,000 face masks to be exact.

While they are best known for their Love Is Project tote bags, 105 Balinese and Javanese locals have been hard at work to create, package, and sew fun-patterned face masks to protect our community from COVID-19.

Whereas other apparel factories have had to shut down or pause their operations, the Love Is Project artisans are busier than ever as they continue to support their families and maintain steady employment. Because they’re currently employed, they’ve simultaneously thrown pandemic-related support events to give back to their community. Here are a few photos of Indonesian artisans organizing food care packages for the surrounding Balinese villages around Canggu.

We are so inspired by this Javanese and Balinese community! Even though they’re busy at work, it’s all hands on deck so they can give back their time and resources during this time of crisis.

Ready to see what these talented artisans made? This week we’re launching two Handmade Face Mask Collections: Aloha and Montauk.

The Aloha Face Mask Collection aims to add a bit of color to our new reality with a variety of lush, island-inspired patterns.

The Montauk Face Mask Collection aims to capture the essence of an East Coast summer: long, beach-filled weekends, breezy coastal vineyards, and pastel sunsets.

Love Is Project Handmade Face Masks create a ripple effect of LOVE, safety, and community. When you purchase a face mask, you’re protecting yourself, your community, and you’re creating sustainable employment and tangible homefront impact for a Love Is Project artisan.

From the bottom of my heart—thank you, thank you, thank you!
XOXO,
