Women's History Month provides an excellent opportunity to support the women in your life and around the world. Love Is Project is a small, women-owned business designed to empower women artisans across the globe by providing fair-wages, healthcare, education, and more, and each bracelet sold goes a long way in supporting all of our partners in 50+ countries.
Purple, green and white are the colors of International Women's Day. Purple signifies justice and dignity. Green symbolizes hope. White represents purity. Pink is unapologetically feminine, and it represents compassion and LOVE.
In the last five years working with our female artisans around the world, I am always impressed with how strong they are as pillars of their family and community. They consistently find ways to innovate and thrive through whatever life throws their way:
• During a drought, they used their earnings to purchase goats and other herds to feed their families.
• When Covid hit and their food supply was threatened, they started backyard farms and now grow enough to trade for other needs.
• When they saw that their community was becoming polluted and littered, they used earnings from their work with us to create jobs cleaning up the environment.
Rosmiyati was born with birth defects and she has no family (her parents died when she was little). When she was young, she was sexually assaulted which left her pregnant.
Today, she's been working for five years with another artisan, Elisa, and weaving friendship bracelets for Love Is Project. In that time, she has been able to overcome many hardships and her life has improved dramatically. As a single mom, she has built a house for herself and made herself a kitchen with her earnings. Her son goes to school now that she has money for his school fees.
She truly embodies resilience and strength. To her, love is happiness and her community that supports her. She thanks everyone for supporting her by buying LOVE bracelets!
We're honored to be featured by Facebook for Women's History Month with over 3.5 million views and counting! It goes to show empowered women, empower women. Our goal will always be to empower artisan communities worldwide via an ethical supply chain of love. We look forward to growing our partnerships with global artisans and making a difference.
You're helping us show up and provide more economic opportunities to our partner artisans.
