Love is a Marathon

We just completed our successful kickstarter campaign, 3 tradeshows in three countries, and the 20th anniversary Lewa marathon, which Love is Project sponsored in Kenya on July 29. It is such a unique experience to be a part of! Camping in the bush was definitely a highlight. It was wonderful to connect with our partners at NRT/Lewa conservancy teams doing their best to protect wildlife, environment and the communities in the surrounding areas.

All 1500 runners wore LOVE bracelets beaded by artisans across Kenya in Ngong Hills, Maasai Mara, Tsavo, Laikipia Samburu Trust & Lewa NRT.

This is Pamela, one of the top beaders @nrt_kenya@beadworkskenya We met last fall and she was the first artisan @lewa_wildlifeto sample a #loveisproject bracelet. She’s so happy that her community are also able to provide for themselves through the @loveisproject The Lewa - Borana conservancy is where the famed Pride Rock from Lion King was inspired from.
